To Be Real is to Be Ruined

— The nightmares we all live are truly an inspiration to never live.

Honesty is a fragile illusion, a reflection of never being good enough. We live to rule, and we rule to live—trapped in the chaos of collective minds, yet bound by the desperate need to be seen. Why? Do you think knowing who you are will bring you closer to who you may not be? Penning your utmost desires, to rip other souls into shreds that can only exists at the mercy of your finger tips. And yet, we swirl in the shades of innocence—just enough to remain acceptable to the masses. It's only because you maybe the one living something as long as you mask it.

In this world, we wear what we must to survive. Behind closed doors, we may believe we are free, but how many of us have the privilege of even being ourselves in solitude? How long does it take to get there? Does a caged soul lose its worth simply because it never learned to fly? I don’t know. Does anyone care? I doubt it.

A child learns early which smiles are expected. A worker perfects the tone that will be received best. A lover memorizes which silences will be tolerated. These become second skins, habits stitched into us before we can question them. We shift, we bend, we mold to the will of the spaces we inhabit... But is this truly a choice? Or is it so ingrained that we no longer realize we are not choosing at all?

And as time passes, the ocean of your past are seen more vividly—replaying the choices you made, the emotions that swallowed you whole, the loneliness that gnawed at your mind, the betrayals that shattered you, the faces that left you behind. The echoes of your existence never seem to fade.

We brood and brood like the songs of Achilles and breed like an incest onto them, accepting a fate we cannot rewrite. We multiply like ghosts in ink, molding the unmasked into something just like us. But the world does not belong to those who are real. It belongs to the ones who have mastered the deception.

Because authenticity is just another word for self-destruction.
